Pieces of Possibility Official Contest Rules

Welcome to Pieces of Possibility, our annual youth art challenge that turns one young artist’s creation into a real puzzle for the community to solve.
By submitting artwork, you (and your parent/guardian if you’re under 18) agree to the following rules:
1. Who Can Enter
Participants must be 13 years of age or older at the time of entry.
Open to residents of any location unless otherwise restricted by local laws.
Contest is void where prohibited by law.
2. What You’re Submitting
By entering, you confirm that:
The artwork is your original creation.
You did not use copyrighted characters, logos, or imagery you do not own the rights to.
Your submission follows the guidelines listed on the entry form.
3. Rights You Grant to Us
You keep ownership of your artwork.
However, by entering the contest, you grant We Connect The Dots (WCTD) a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to:
Display your artwork on our website and social media
Share it in marketing materials, newsletters, and press
Use it for fundraising or community programs
Print and distribute the artwork as part of the Pieces of Possibility puzzle challenge (if selected)
If your artwork is chosen as the winning piece, you additionally grant WCTD permission to:
Produce physical puzzles
Use the artwork in future promotional events
Create derivative works (e.g., resized versions for packaging, web graphics, event signage)
This license allows us to run the contest smoothly while you keep your rights as the creator.
4. How Winners Are Chosen & What They Win
Selection Process
WCTD staff will review all submissions for eligibility.
30 artworks will be selected for the public voting round.
The community will vote online to select the final winner.
Judging Criteria
Creativity & originality
Visual appeal
Fit with the Pieces of Possibility theme
Appropriateness for printing and puzzle production
Prizes
The winning artwork will become a real puzzle produced by WCTD.
Winner will receive:
Public recognition (website + social media)
A complimentary copy of their printed puzzle
Optional feature in a WCTD article or interview
5. Use of Your Name & Image
By entering, you (and your parent/guardian if under 18) agree that WCTD may use:
Your first name
Your age or age range
Your city/state
Any photos you provide or that are taken during WCTD events (if applicable)
This information is used only to celebrate your participation and present the contest results.
6. Privacy & Data Use
We care about your privacy.
By entering, you agree that WCTD may collect and store:
Your name
Age
Email address
Uploaded artwork files
How We Use This Information
To contact you about your submission
To notify finalists and winners
To share optional future program opportunities (only if you opt in)
We do not sell your information.
You may request deletion of your contest data at any time by contacting us.
7. Additional Terms
WCTD reserves the right to disqualify submissions that violate rules or contain inappropriate content.
Timelines, voting processes, and prizes may shift if needed due to technical or logistical issues.
By entering, you agree to follow all contest rules and respect the decisions of the judges.
