This is a (4) day/ 4 part Saturday program beginning Saturday, April 1, 2017 with the last day of completion on Saturday April 29th. This program is for students looking to further advance their skills, this program builds on the learning experience from our CreatingIDEAS program. Expanding the competencies that were mastered during CreatingIDEAS, this advanced program offers students exposure into unchartered territory where they will learn a new set of skills.
From concept design through delivering a game to market, these 4 days will take students on a journey to understand the career opportunities and the roles involved within the rapidly growing and globally competitive gaming industry. This program is more than just learning to create “cool” games. It expands a student’s mind to realize the opportunities that surround the excitement of gaming throughout many industries across STEAM today and beyond.
Leveraging Unity, the teams will use design thinking to create a video game which must follow the rubric guidelines outlining the competencies students are required to demonstrate. They must ensure the game design supports solving a problem that is impactful to our lives in positive ways. Each team will present a final 2-3 minute video trailer and presentation of their game design. Teams must meet timelines for the deliverables, work collaboratively, and demonstrate good digital citizenship at all times.

Each year we have industry experts in fields across (STEAM) Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math join us for panel discussions to share their career experience and answer questions from the students.
At the close of the program each year our student teams present to a panel of judges to compete for fun prizes. Parents are invited to join us to be a part of this exciting moment where students share their experience and what they have learned over the 10 days with us.
