Join We Connect The Dots for two days during the upcoming winter break for a fun learning to code day long program. Join us for both days or for just one day. This program is designed to provide students ages 12-18 years a valuable insight to the evolving world of 21st century workforce skills. Students will participate using physical computing to learn coding concepts.

Day 1 will consist of basic drag and drop coding using Makecode.com and micro:bits along with Spheros robots to program autonomous movement. This is an exciting workshop designed by WCTD to engage students in a fun gamified learning experiences.

Day 2 will consist of basic drag and drop coding using STEAM DroneBlocks with small education drones. Students can attend and use our drones or purchase a drone as part of the admissions and take the drone home with them.

Students with coding experience can advance with Python and JavaScript.

There is a maximum number of student capacity for each day of no more than 20 participants. This is a first come first serve registration. We have limited scholarships for students who are Free lunch pre-vetted by their school.

Students must be registered in advance of the program, drop ins will not be permitted. Registration will close on April 1st, or when the session is full.

Important INformation Day of program:

Registration opens at 8:30 AM. All students must be in registered by 9:00 AM. The program will run from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM sharp. Please plan transportation arrangements accordingly. 

The day's events will include:

  • An introduction to software tools and resources for the activities

  • Training session on coding concepts and how to engage with the devices for each day

  • Fun gamified activities to reinforce learning experience

  • Team building and collaboration activities

Students are encouraged to bring their cell phones to utilize for some of the programming activities. We will provide tablet devices to utilize for learning coding concepts.

Transportation- We are not providing transportation for this program

Parking is located on State Street across from the building

Enter on State Street and utilize elevators past the security desk at the bottom of the stairs - Head to the 3rd floor Atrium

Once in the Atrium follow the signs for Suite 400 to the left. At the end of the atrium use the stairs to head to suite 400 through the glass doors.

Lunch is not provided:

All attendees must pack a lunch, snack and beverage

Students should bring their smartphones to the event. They will be useful throughout the day's program. 

Students will not need to bring laptops or tablet devices. WCTD will provide Surface 3 devices for students to use during the event. 

All waivers and documents! Parents must check in students, sign waiver documents at the security check-in before leaving. Those students who do not have their documents will be prohibited from the day's events. Waivers and registration documents will be provided in your confirmation email once you have registered for the program.


Select which day you would like to participate or add both days to the cart. Day 1 students will receive 1 micro:bit go devices as a part of registration. Day 2 participants can select to go home with the drone to continue learning or just participate in the program and utilize a shared drone for the day.
