Join us at Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School for a day of technology education. Learn to build a website and collaborate with a team of students to solve a global challenge, and go home with important 21st century workforce skills that you can use later on in life! Technologies that will be covered will include browser-based website generators, light coding in HTML5, web development, using social collaboration tools, and device management. 

Students teams will compete against one another to solve a global problem and learn to build websites that demonstrate their solution. a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner will be selected. Students from Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District between the ages of 10 and 14 are welcome to attend. Tickets are $15.00 per student.

Check in opens at 8: 30 AM sharp. All students must be in checked in by 9:00 AM. Parents are welcome to attend the students presentations and may begin arriving at 3:15 to watch students present. 

Students must set up a Yammer account BEFORE the event. There will not be sufficient time to set up these accounts on the day of the event, and students will need a Yammer account to take part in the day's activities. Parents and teachers should assist students in setting up these accounts and installing the Yammer application on their smartphones (if available). Transportation to and from the event is the responsibility of the student's parent or guardian.

What should students and CHAPERONS bring?

All attendees must pack a lunch, snack, and beverage.

Students should bring their smartphones to the event. They will be useful throughout the day's  activities. 

A laptop computer. If you do not have one or cannot bring one, don't worry! We will provide you with a device. 

Bring your waiver! Students must present all documents at check-in before proceeding to the event. Those students who do not have their documents will be prohibited from the day's events.
